The 14th district is called Observatoire due to the one that was created in 1667 in order to establish maps of the world to make the navigation easier.
Located in the south of Paris, old Montmartre of artists looking for fame, the district turned into a residential one, which makes it less expensive than the center of the capital. Shops, bars, restaurants and cinemas abound in this district. It is full of parks and green spaces spread all over the area such as Montsouris, which makes it sought-after by families. Near of Place Denfert Rochereau is located the rue Daguerre’s market where many want to take advantage of its chilled product during the week end.
This district is also a student one due to the Cité Universitaire of Paris where a large number of young people from all over the world come to study. If you want to go out, go to Kriza Bar, Café Tournesol, L’Auto Passion Café or the Patchanga.
