Renting a furnished apartment: a short GUIDE FOR LANDLORDS
Much less awkward than a "3/6/9" lease (3-year periods), especially when it comes to terminating the contract, a rental contract for a furnished apartment commits you to:
- comply with a three-month (1 for the tenant) notice period,
- include maintenance expenses (charges) in the rent,
- after cashing the rent, return a rent receipt,
- accept to charge the tenant pro-rata for the taxe d'habitation (council tax), according to the actual duration of rent,
- maintain all the household appliances included with the accommodation in proper working order,
- check the building's communal areas are maintained in good condition,
- return the initial deposit within 30 days of the vacating schedule of condition and of the keys being handed back.
